Tournament was created by Harold "Flash" Barron and Bill "Whupper" Lee to assure them a golf game over the Labor Day week-end. From 1966-1990 it was a 45-hole best ball tournament with 18 holes played on Sunday and 27 holes played on Labor Day. Not held for 3 years and revised in 1994 as a Labor Day 18-hole Scotch foursome event.
